Sold the BMW, bought this 2007 990 Superduke. Holy shit is this bike fun. Not going to do anything crazy with it, but just play up the euro cool naked super bike angle a bit. Already have some parts on the way. Planning on kitting the cockpit out with some stylish Rizoma goodies, and adding a few things here and there.

Took the new GSXR to Thunderhill for a track day on Friday. Bike was absolutely mint and dialed. I started in C group as it was my first track day, which was terrifying. 160mph at the end of the straight with other people going about 80 and no idea what line they plan on taking. Thankfully after an instructor followed me for a few laps they moved me to B group which was much better. Here's a video from the moving chicane class. Only clear lap was out of the pit, after that there was a lot of cruising around trying to get around people.

I need some more performance tarmac experience, so I picked up this GSX-R 600 track bike. Pretty well sorted but it's been spilled a few times. I'll get it straightened out before a track day at Thunderhill in July. Came with a whole slew of support gear like ramp for the truck, pit bull stands, tire warmers, spares, etc. I needed the whole lot and got it for a great price.

Last week was another quick trip to the greater Stuttgart area for work. Such a beautiful and charming country. I got to visit the airfield my father used to go soaring out of when he lived there about 45 years ago. Very cool. Also that autobahn is pretty sweet, even in a diesel Peugeot wagon.

It's been a long time since I posted last. Mainly because I've packed everything up, moved to California, started a new job, gone to China, gone to Germany, changed the DRZ into a supermoto, and all sorts of other stuff. Time to resume this blogging thing. I now have some of the best motorcycle roads I've ever ridden within 15 minutes of my house. Totally digging it.

She's cleaned up quite well. No nasty surprises which was nice, but she definitely needed some love and service. I've replaced the majority of the rusty fasteners with stainless ones, flushed all the hydraulics, cleaned the K&N, cleaned up most of the bike, and polished and waxed all the bodywork. I just need all the fluids I ordered to show up so I can change the oil in the motor, gearbox, and final drive. Then some fresh rubber and we'll be aces. It's amazing how spiders love old motorcycles, every crevice of this bike must have had a spiders nest in it.
